Sorry for not updating sooner

Hello Sisters,
I am sorry that I have not updated our blog lately! Life has been pretty busy in the Smith household...getting ready for our first baby, so I have had to use my braincells for this. When I sit down to write on our blog, I honestly, feel what braincells I have left leaving me and cannot think of anything to write. That is why this is just a bunch of random sentences!! If anyone (who still has functional braincells) is interested, I would love for you to help me co-author this blog. Honestly, the more the merrier! Is there anyone in our church reading this? I'm not sure because no one has posted comments. Please let me know if any of you (much wiser than me) women would have mercy on my disfunctional brain and help me out!! Lots of love to all of you, Macki

New Bible Study Coming!

Hey Ladies,
The Lord has moved this morning in such a fun and sweet way. If you are like me, you are full of Biblical questions, stew over these questions, and get frustrated because you cannot quite place your finger on the answer to your question. This morning, I opened my computer and went to a couple of Christian search engines that just answer Biblical questions. I love it when the Lord walks me through His word and His ways...even on the Internet!! It just shows me that though men and women have misused the Internet as a devise to promote evil, God will prevail and make it used for something good. This blog and these Christian websites just prove that God will get the final word! I am including the links to these favorite websites of mine, and I hope that they help you discover the truths in God's word as much as they have helped me.
Also, our Ladies' Bible Study on Tuesday nights on Believing God by Beth Moore is about to be over. We have all taken so much from this study, and we hope many more groups will use it as well. It will be available for anyone in the church to use who may want to lead a small group in your home! As for a new study, all of the ladies decided to do Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer. This too has receive GREAT reviews from many people I know who have done the study. We will do it at the same time and same place...Tuesday nights at 6:00 in the church office. The books will be $15, and we are working on the possibility of childcare. Please let me know if you will be interested and have children so that we can try to get a sitter arranged!

Here are the websites that I was talking about:

Love to all of you! Macki

Loving Well Retreat

We all had a great time at the Loving Well Retreat the weekend of Oct. 3rd and 4th! I felt that the Lord really met us there, and I know that I was very convicted of things that I need to work on in many areas of loving others. One suggestion that I hope is going to help me in my loving others actually came from our Believing God Bible study on Tuesday nights. Beth suggests to write down the name of the person that needs prayer, the relationship of that person to you, the specific request, and a scripture to pray over that specific request on an index card. This is so practical, and I cannot wait to put my prayers over my loved ones into the power of scripture...I know that blessings will be sure to follow when I learn to place my worries and concerns into the Lord's power!
I am also including pictures from the retreat weekend! I hope that all of you enjoy!
Love ya, Macki

Our New CrossPoint Women's Blog

Hello Everyone,
This blog is something that the Lord has placed on my heart to begin for a while, but it was honestly just finding a free moment to be still and focus on beginning it. I want ALL of us to have a way of communicating that will keep us constantly involved with each other's lives. We, as women of the Body of Christ, need to understand what it means to lean on one another in times of joy, discomfort, trials, grief, and confusion. We need to know that our lives mean something to others as well. I hope that is is a way that we can share wonderful truths and promises that God is speaking to each of our hearts. I also want this to be a way for us to share our prayer requests with other women, so that we can truly utilize the strengths of the wonderful prayer warriors in our church. This is OUR ministry to each other in our church as well as Starkville and beyond. I am so excited to unite with you so that we can begin to be the hearts, hands, and feet of the Body of Christ that He so preciously calls us to be.
Love to all of you,
Macki Smith
